Where we have been.....

In 2006, an unmistakable call from God set in motion a movement meant to impact lives with the transformative power of Jesus Christ. It was in a modest cafeteria at the Hillcrest Heights Special Center that a passionate assembly gathered—not as a large congregation or in an ornate sanctuary, but as a humble band of believers led by visionary leaders such as Pastor Avery Kinney, Mother Carolyn Foulks, Avery Kinney Jr, Elder Shaun Johnson, and Elder Michele Irby Johnson (with Pastor Iris Kinney joining the family in 2007). In that simple, unassuming space, they embraced a divine mandate to reach souls and see lives transformed. Their unity around this passion laid the groundwork for what would soon become a legacy of faith and resilience.

As the ministry began to take form, its evolution was marked by a spirit of innovation and an enduring commitment to God’s purpose. What started as Perfecting Word Praise Church was not confined to traditional boundaries. Each service, every heartfelt prayer, and each step of outreach bore clear evidence that a supernatural hand was guiding the ministry’s trajectory. Over time, that early spark of inspiration grew into something far greater than its original setting—a vibrant expression of worship and transformation that could adapt to the changing needs of the community it served.

Today, the ministry has blossomed into what is now known as The Activation Center—a hybrid Apostolic Hub that embodies both tradition and contemporary expression. This evolution is a testament to decades of deep commitment and continual revelation; one looks back on the journey with gratitude for the early days of gathering in a small cafeteria, and forward with anticipation for the promise and potential of the future. Each milestone reached and every challenge overcome reinforces the belief that God's supernatural work continues to permeate every aspect of the ministry’s life.

This narrative of faith is much more than a history of dates and events—it is a living testimony to the power of obedience, the beauty of community, and the assurance that God’s work never ceases. The Activation Center stands today as a beacon of hope, uniting people from diverse backgrounds under a shared vision: to witness and participate in a transformational journey where every service, event, and outreach initiative echoes that first divine call. As the ministry grows, it carries forward the legacy of its pioneers, embodying a mission that is as vibrant now as it was in 2006, and confidently proclaiming that the best in God’s work is yet to come.
